I just want to say there aren’t any dark/🍇 scenes as of chapter 11 despite what we learn in the first few chapters.

It’s actually really funny.

I recommend this if you want a new reincarnation manhwa with a funny female lead and a cursed male lead.

Summary of the Plot So Far

On her 20th birthday, Renatis realizes she’s been reincarnated into an R-rated tragedy she read in her last life.

And her older sister, Astella, is the female lead destined to die in a dungeon because of the obsessive male lead, Theodore.

So Renatis decides to prevent this by making sure the two never meet and taking Astella’s place herself.

Which works well enough but she quickly finds out Theodore is entirely different from the man in the novel.

My Thoughts (Contains Minor Spoilers)

TL;DR The genre is changing from angst to comedy instead of heartwarming

Setting

It’s a pretty standard romance fantasy set in a European-like country with no name.

It’s also unclear how much magic is involved in the story.

The male lead, Theodore, has a hereditary curse that causes insanity but there’s no magic in the OG novel.

However, the reason why Theodore obsessed over Astella in the novel was because she was a witch, or supposed to be one.

Apparently, the curse can be controlled by ingesting a witch’s fluids. o_0 

Characters

I really like the two leads and Astella.

So far, the only problematic thing about Theodore has been his curse overwhelming him.

Otherwise, he’s been a kind and reasonable ML.

Theodore has also been confused but that’s because Renatis is a chaotic gremlin.

Renatis is physically strong, unpredictable, and mostly upbeat.

While the story is supposed to be dark, she’s changing it up not only by interfering with the plot but just by being herself.

Also, her sisterly bond with Astella was so heartwarming (get it) and sweet and I wish there was more of this in manhwa.

Astella and Theodore are also the only ones concerned about Renatis’ well-being.

Almost everyone else has been trash, but Ordi is one of the worst.

Ordi is one of Theodore’s servants and he threw Renatis into a locked room with curse-mad Theodore in the hopes she could cure him with zero concern for her safety.

Theodore’s dad is also godawful because of how ruthless he is.

Renatis and Astella’s dad is also terrible as he’s abusive and uses all their money for alcohol.

As the story continues, I really hope some of these characters get what’s coming to them.

If what I’ve said sounds interesting, you should give Changing the Genre From Angst to Heartwarming a try.

While the first three chapters seem like it’s heading somewhere dark or morally gray, the later chapters change that entirely, making the title fitting.
