I recommend this if you want a villainess manhwa with an OP FL and Duke of the North ML
WEBTOONSummary of the Plot So Far
Originally, the Demon Lord was supposed to usher in an age of demons like the final boss in “The Power of Love.”
Instead, she’s settled down in the northern duchy of the Grace empire where the blizzard never ends and there’s a constant threat of a monster invasion.
Her name is Raina Rubellite and she was previously a terminally ill girl who was reincarnated into Raina after a god misinterpreted her wish.
While her new life certainly isn’t what she wanted, being an overpowered Demon Lord with dark magic comes with perks such as the freedom to ignore the plot and easily fend off assassins from her father.
Though as she continues to do as she pleases and even help those around her, it’s clear her magic and prophecy aren’t what they appear to be.

My Thoughts (Contains Minor Spoilers)
TL;DR It’s a villainess manhwa that does nothing new but it does it very well
Setting
Like I said above, the story takes place in the Grace empire, mostly in the northern duchy.
There’s a thousand-year-old prophecy saying the Demon Lord will destroy the world and one way to tell who’s the Demon Lord is by their black magic.
So it’s clear Raina is the Demon Lord since she uses black magic to create flames.
However, there are some flaws regarding the prophecy and what characters are claiming.
The first is the claim that the Demon Lord plans on taking over the north with monster invasions and a never-ending blizzard.
The second is the Demon Lord placed a curse on the Wintersnow family, who protect the north, and killed the duke and duchess.
These events happened while the OG FL was locked in the family dungeon.
In addition, the current high priest who announces new prophecies can use ice magic.
Another is that the current hifh priest who announces new prophecies uses ice magic
Magic
The world seems to have a soft magic system and there hasn’t been much explanation as to whether one can only inherit magic or learn it.
In addition, curses exist though there’s been no explanation on how they work.
The only thing we know for sure is Raina can reduce its effects by using her magic selflessly.
Her intention seems to affect whether her magic works as intended.
If she’s selfish, her magic destroys.
If she’s selfless, her magic does whatever she wants.
Another thing to note is there’s a demonic entity occasionally stating her magic is best for destruction though she hasn’t questioned its existence.
Protagonists
Raina is a villainess with an “I do what I want” type of vibe and I’m here for it.
All she wants is her own house and a peaceful life.
Her being the Demon Lord does draw attention, unfortunately.
While she doesn’t want to hurt anyone, she won’t hesitate to do it either.
Even against Rostin, our Duke of the North ML.
So far Rostin has been pretty stoic except for when his brother and people are involved.
He also appears strong in his own right since enemies fear him which sets us up for a future power couple between him and Raina.
Antagonists
The two main antagonists seem to be Raina’s father and the high priest.
Raina’s father is a mix of cowardice and ruthlessness as he’s terrified of what Raina will do but also won’t hesitate to order the execution of anyone who knows about her magic.
While it wasn’t explicit said, I think that also includes all of the servants who saw Raina use magic in Chapter 1.
He’s also pretty cheap as the food he sent as aid to the north is low-quality though it may have been so that Raina couldn’t benefit.
The high priest could be a red herring but when you combine his interest in the Demon Lord and ice magic, which he also used to kill someone who knew about Raina’s magic, I can’t help but feel he’s behind all of the problems in the north.
Or he could just be in a cult that worships the Demon Lord, idk.
Side Characters
While each side character has their own motivations, one thing they share in common is benefiting from Raina’s presence.
Another is they were all either terrified or suspicious of her when realizing she uses dark magic.
Regardless of first impressions, she seems poised to raise everyone up and potentially the duchy itself by way things are going.
